Guys!!! I am so excited to share our little mini update that we made to our living room! I have been wanting to get some more house plants for a few months now. Josh and I decided that January would be the time since we went home for the holidays. I have been looking at lots of plants and home decor stuff for a little bit now, so I already had a basic idea of what I wanted to do.
We live in a studio apartment in downtown, so every area of our apartment needs to be functional. We don’t have much built in storage space, so it’s really easy for everything to start to feel cluttered.
I originally wanted to get floating shelves for the back wall. However, I got some from Ikea when we first moved in and it didn’t go to well. We have metal studs in our building which makes hanging things a bit more difficult. While I know it can be done. I’d rather not mess with it while we are still renting.
Here is our living room space before, I didn’t realize how much it needed a change until after everything was done.
(concentrated hanging face)
buffet west elm | coffee table crate and barrel | pendant lamp target | record stand urban outfitters | white planter lowes | black planter ikea | planter stand ikea
sofa ikea | blanket jcpenney and bespoke post | pillow the little market
copper wire basket west elm (similar) | little dancer at fourteen years by degas | fitzgerald books penguin or amazon | planter planter | vase wedding gift | shelf ikea
I’m so in love with the way that everything turned out, the space feels complete now. The best part was these changes only took an afternoon and around $150 do complete. The shelf was the most expensive at $59 and each of the plants were around $10. We picked a few new planters and soil. We moved some small decor items from other places in the apartment. I love being able to feature some of our favorite items that we own.
Stay tuned! Up next is the bedroom!!
