Happy Labor Day! Josh and I spent the day on Coronado Island, walking around the square, picnicking at the beach, and topped it all off with some gelato. It was a perfect way to spend this cloudy (but beautiful) holiday. Lately, we have found ourselves doing the same thing every weekend, so we are trying to change up the places that we visit. We took lots of pictures, so there will be blog post up tomorrow about our adventure. Tonight will be finished off with some new beers that we picked up and Hand Maiden’s Tale. Have you guys started watching yet? If so what are your thoughts thus far. We are enjoying it! It’s incredible and you’ll love it if you’re into 1984/Fahrenheit 451 style dystopian fiction.
One thing that we always find ourselves doing is walking around the Convention Center during the week. We live downtown about a five minute walk to the Convention Center therefore, when we go on evening walks. We tend walk the around to Seaport Village, catch some of the sunset and people watch. Even though we are walking the same path, there is always something interesting to talk about and we catch up each other’s day.
Most days, when I’m not doing anything special, I basically live in blue jeans and a tee. It has been to hot this weekend here in San Diego for that. During hotter months, I’m always looking for comfort at any cost. Luckily, this dress offers that without having to sacrifice style. I have been looking for the perfect denim dress for a few years now. I bought a similar dress a while back, but it ended up being a bit too large. I’ll get around to tailoring it one day, but until this then dress from Levi fits the bill perfectly.
A lot of the dresses that I own are more of even dresses that I’ve picked up for a special occasion, so I’ve been trying to get more everyday dresses that can be thrown together in a couple different ways to wear around town. Denim tends to go well with lots of different looks and also transitions well into every season, so I expect to get a lot of wear from this during the fall. It won’t ever be seriously cold here in San Diego, but this will look great with a chunky sweater thrown over it.
I got this dress on sale at Levi’s in July, so it is sold out. But they have a similar dress here.
