Though I have travel to San Francisco several times in my life, this was the first time that we spend the whole day in the park exploring everything we could. There is so much to see and by no means did we see everything that we there is. We visited the park the weekend of Hardly Strictly Music Festival, which is a free music festival. We saw that Randy Newman was playing and just had to go! We spend the morning walking around the lake checking out the de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, and Conservatory of Flowers. All of which are worth checking out. There are also Buffalos in the park ,which we didn’t get a chance to see. However, next time we find ourselves in Golden Gate Park we will be locating them! There are always all kind of events going on as well, I know that every Sunday they host Swing Dancing in the Park among other events.
After walking around a bit we headed back to the music festival site so we could watch Randy. Which was one of the highlights of both Josh and I’s weekend! Hardly Strictly is a free bluegrass music festival that happens every year in Golden Gate Park. It’s a free concert too!! This was a great way to end the weekend because we had been walking around and explore the city so much. The weather was perfect and didn’t get to cold until the end of the night. The only thing I wish we knew was that you could bring beer and wine to the park with you and they didn’t sell any in the park. Oh well, we still enjoyed ourselves, saw some great shows and caught up with friends. PS, we ended the night with these popsicles, holy moly, they are so good and if you ever see Pop Nation you should check them out!
