Happy Monday, y’all! Josh and I are starting a new mini series here on Slightly Luminous in which we are sharing our favorite places broken down by neighborhoods here in San Diego. For our first installment: North Park, San Diego. If Josh and I aren’t in our local neighborhood of East Village we are usually wandering around North Park. There are so many great eateries in this part of town and we are working on trying as many as we can get to. We have had a never ending list of restaurants since we moved out to San Diego and since we’ve lived here for two years that list has gotten even longer. There are some great things about North Park, but to top the list we love that everything is just a few blocks apart. So it’s a great area to park and spend an afternoon walking around from shop to shop.

There are so many great places to visit in North Park, we’ve only scratched the surface of things to do in this part of town. It has a lot going on for it, especially if you’re looking to hit up a couple of beer bars or get some coffee. If you want to shop, be sure to venture off of University Avenue a bit and check out Record City for vinyl enthusiasts and Verbatim Books for, well, books. It can be easy to kill a whole day here if you want to check out everything, so try and have a rough plan of what you consider “must-sees.” In the event that you do only have time to check out a few things here, our must see places are the Modern Times Tap Room, City Taco for food, and Pigment for shopping and the super photogenic succulent wall.
