The Flower Fields

This past weekend Josh and I took a day trip to North County San Diego to the Carlsbad area, where these beautiful flowers are in full bloom. I discovered The Flower Fields last year after the full bloom had ended. This year when I found out the flowers were in full bloom I didn’t wait! It’s one of the more beautiful places that we’ve been in to San Diego and well worth the short trip to Carlsbad. The flower field goes on past what you can see in the distance and they have a bunch of actives set up right where you enter. Plus there’s Strawberry Dole Whip! As some that was just introduced to Dole Whip, I was very excited to get my hands on it. Josh and I spent the better part of the morning just wandering around from field to field and enjoying the view.

I picked up this yellow sweater at a garage sale a few weeks ago, it has quickly become on of my favorite pieces. Over the past few years I have started reaching for a striped shirt and blue jeans for my go-to outfit. Most of the time there isn’t much color in what I wear, I’ve been trying to expand the colors that I’m buying now. Over half of my tops are black, white, or grey; while there is nothing wrong with that. I’ve forgot how much I enjoying wearing a pop of color every now and then. This sweater is great too because it’s lightweight so it can be worn through most of the spring (at least in Southern California). Similar sweater styles here, here, and here. As for my jeans, theses are my current favorite jeans (that I ripped yesterday a bit, but I think they can be saved) I picked them up last year from Levi’s and trimmed to bottom because I bought a pair that was 32″ long, which is wayyyy to long for this 5’2″ girl.
